Day 1: Welcome

Welcome to Israel. You may arrive through the day and rest.

Day 2 - The Four Quarters

This morning you will tour the Jewish quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem. You will see the Tower of David, the Arab markets, the tomb of King David, the broadwall built by King Hezekiah as described by the prophet Isaiah, King David’s tomb, the Cardo, the tomb of soldiers killed defending the Old City in 1948, the Kotel, and selected attractions in the Christian and Muslim quarters.

Day 3 - Jerusalem Below Ground

his morning you will tour the City of David where Kings David and Solomon dwelt. You will see what many believe are the remains of David’s palace, the huge water tunnel of King Hezekiah, the Siloam Pool visited by Jews prior to entering the Temple, and a street built by Herod the Great.

Later you will continue to the southern wall excavations where numerous artefacts relating to the temple and Jewish worship have been recovered.

Your day will end with a tour of the Western Wall tunnels

Day 4 - Masada and Dead Sea

This morning you will travel south into the Judea desert. You will pass the site of the Good Samaritan, Jericho where Satan tempted Christ, Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found, and Sodom, destroyed by God because of its wickedness. Your first stop will be Masada, the cliff top fortress of Herod the Great, the king who sought to murder all male babies to prevent prevent Jesus’ salvation.
Ascending Masada you will view the magnificent suspended palace, the Roman bathhouses, the Jewish ritual baths, the enormous storage rooms, the ancient synagogue, the UNESCO listed Roman military siege system, and the destroyed walls. You will also hear the tale of the heroes who chose death over forced idolatry.
Departing Masada you will continue to the Dead Sea, where you will enjoy the unique sensation of floating on water. In the evening, you will return to Jerusalem.

Day 5 - Sacrifice and Heroes

This morning you will tour Yad Vashem. Israel’s national Holocaust memorial and museum. You will see the history museum, the Hall of Names, the childrens’ memorial, the ghetto fighters memorial, and the garden of the righteous among the nations.

In the afternoon you will continue to Mt Hertzl where you will pay respects at the final resting place of Israel’s great leaders, and hear the stories of the soldiers who gave their lives in defence of Israel.

Day 6 - Coastal Wonders

Today you will travel north to Caesarea, where Herod the Great built a magnifcent harbour. You will see this as well as his palace, the large theater that he built, the chariot racing arena, and crusader ruins.

You will continue to Haifa, Israel’s third major city, and home of the spectacular Bahai Gardens.

Later you will make your way to Acre, the crusader capital.

Day 7 - Safed and Golan Heights

This morning you will travel across Israel’s north, stopping first at Safed, home of Jewish mysticism. You will see the Old City and artiists quarter, and if you wish, can also visit the grave of Rabi Shimon Bar Yochai, author of the Zohar, the central work in Kaballah.

In the afternoon you will continue to the Golan Heights, where you will ascend to Mount Ben Tal. Located above the Syrian border, this will provide you will an opportunity to view an Israeli defensive position, and understanding the complex nature of Israel’s geopolitical reality.

Later you will visit Katzrin, a second century Jewish town.

Day 8 - Ruins of the Galil

This morning you wil visit the ancient synagogue at Capernaum, also a site of enormous signifance in Christianity.

Afterwards you will continue to Beit Shean, one of the best examples of Byzantine ruins still standing. You will see the columned main street, the central fountain, the governor’s palace, the enormous theater, the lavatorial system, and ancient mosiacs.

You will spend the evening in Tel Aviv.

Day 9 - The "Old New Land"

This morning you will explore Israel’s cultural capital. You will see Jaffa, the ancient port of Tel Aviv and one of the world’s oldest continually inhabited cities

In the afternoon you will explore the modern foundations of Tel Aviv including Rothschild Boulevarde and independence hall, and the Carmel market.

Day 10 - Modern Israel

This morning you will enjoy a food tour focusing on the many different Jewish groups that make up the social fabric of modern Israel. Your tour will focus on the Levinsky Market, one of the city’s most diverse and trendy neighbourhoods.

In the afternoon you will visit Rabin square where former Prime Minister Rabin was assassinated, and the Rabin museum which ofers a detailed exploration of modern Israeli history.

In the evening you will have the option of enjoying a unique theater experience – all actors are blind and/or deaf.
